Signup to be a Vendor

When: Every 3rd Tuesday of the Month (Aug 21st, Sept 18th, Oct 16th, etc.) from 11:00am to 2:00pm

Goal: The primary goal is to bring people to Downtown Roseville. If this is the reason that brings some of them, then it's a success. The secondary goal is to provide community vendors an outlet to additional business with each other and the community. A Dash of Panache shuts down its Friendship Tea Parlor during this event in order to host the vendors but it usually gains by additional sales in its cafe during the event. Again, the true primary goal is to bring people downtown!

Traffic: In our (A Dash of Panache) opinion, the foot traffic into the Community Vendor Faire has been light compared to other venues. However, most of our vendors keep coming back month after month and our low table price and their actual sales seem to make it worth their effort.

Cost: $15 for a 2'x5' Table (provided). This fee is required by all Primary Vendors (see below) who confirm their attendance (even if they back out at last minute) and by all Secondary Vendors who say they can attend are then officially invited when needed. Turning away other vendors only to find out you decided not to come at the last minute is a bummer for all of us (less vendors for the shoppers, less of a "Wow!" environment, more work for staff who have to shuffle things around so your vacancy doesn't stand out like a sore thumb.

Advertising: Advertising varies a little each month. However, in general, we usually advertise in the following ways: We are in CraigsList.com, CraftLister.com (EventLister.com), Roseville Press Tribune, Sacramento Parent Magazine, and several neighborhood/community newsletters. Customers who order in our cafe (especially to-go) are often given a reminder flier about the Community Vendor Faire. It is advertised on our highly trafficked website (this one) and online event calendar. The Sacramento Bee online calendar lists the event. A banner will hang in front of the building for 1 week prior to the event. We’ve posted signs inside SureWest and the City of Roseville. TravelHOST magazine (which is inside every hotel room within a 10 mile radius) lists the event in the Downtown Roseville Events section. Our owners send out an e-mail the day before the event to hundreds of known guests as a reminder. Also, there will be a street sign out front on the day of the event. YOU also need to send notification to all of your clientele (your mailing list)--this can be thousands of additional people if all vendors cooperate with this. Here are some fliers you can distribute:

  • Community Vendor Faire Small Flier (4 ads per sheet). Best used when printed and cut (to be shared in paper form).
  • Community Vendor Faire Full Page Flier (one ad that can be e-mailed or printed as-is).

Setup and Day-Of Agenda: Once you're confirmed, you need to follow these guidelines:

  • You must be completely setup for the event by 10:45am. You’ll have between 10:15am and 10:45a to setup.
  • You must remain setup until 2pm (no vacating early…it cheapens the experience for other vendors and shoppers).
  • Parking: Park in the free lot behind my building (2 hour limit…you’ll have to move your car every now and then--the city will ticket you otherwise), in the free lot next the plumbing business at Lincoln and Oak (no time limit), or in the free lot along Oak street (no time limit).
  • You must supply your own table cloth for the tables (no bare tables) and please elevate your products instead of let them lie on flat tables. We want this to be eye-pleasing, not a swap-meet mentality.
  • Please donate something to a prize drawing. While an actual gift is best for shoppers (and it looks nice on the display table), we'd recommend that for your own benefit, you provide a gift certificate. This will give you one more interface with the customer (another chance to sell) or might result in no redemption (meaning no loss to you).
  • A list of attendees (who fill out an entry form) will be supplied to all vendors that day.
  • We are a team, not competitors. Talk nice about each other (and our facility), please.

How to Get on the List: If you are not already in our list and are interested in attending a future Community Vendor Faire at A Dash of Panache, please send an e-mail to Info @ ADashOfPanache.com (REMOVE SPACES IN THIS E-MAIL ADDRESS BEFORE USING...we added spaces to keep away from automated web crawlers that add us to junk mail lists). In the e-mail, include your name, address, phones (including evening), business name (if any), and a description of the types of products (categories) you sell. If you have a website showing the products, list that too.

Once in our database, you will be assigned to either our PRIORITY LIST or our SECONDARY LIST (a Backup List). Folks on the Priority List will have a guaranteed spot if they respond to an inquiry e-mail we send them the week before the event (they are expected to reply whether or not they can attend). This same e-mail is also send to the Secondary List, each of whom are also expected to respond (with a "Yes I can attend if asked" or a "No, I'm not available this time").

A vendor on the Secondary List will be be given explicit permission to attend IF ALL of the following occurs:

  1. They reply to the initial inquiry e-mail (explained above) with a "Yes, I can attend if asked." AND
  2. We have a spot available. This will occur only if a Priority Vendor responds that they are not available or they do not respond at all.
  3. Your products fit well with the mix of vendors that are coming (we try to avoid too many of the same type of product and try to keep a nice variety available for shoppers).

IMPORTANT: The “catch” for Secondary Vendors is that they may not know they are “in” until Monday (sometimes even Monday Night), depending on last minute cancellations by Primary Vendors. So you must consider this when responding.
